INTRODUCING
The tenth Latin American PolMeth (LAPolMeth) meeting will take place on-site in Bogotá, Colombia, on November 20–21, 2026, hosted by Universidad de los Andes. A pre-conference day on November 19 will be devoted to the use of AI in methods research and instruction, featuring practical workshops and a round-table discussion.
The meeting is sponsored by the Society for Political Methodology, Princeton University, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, American University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Colorado Boulder, and Texas A&M University.
The main meeting will feature parallel paper workshops, a poster session for graduate students, and keynote talks by Natalia Bueno (Emory University) and Ted Enamorado (Washington University in St. Louis).
This gathering continues our tradition of advancing the development and application of innovative research methodologies within the political science community in the region. We welcome submissions that demonstrate methodological innovations as well as substantive work that applies advanced methods to pivotal political and social questions.
Submissions will be received until June 1, 2026. Registration will close on September 19, 2026. Abstract submissions are handled through the Cambridge University Press website.
While we aim to promote quantitative social science research in Latin America, we are keen to include contributions from scholars working on other regions of the world.
